Jan Kopecký eleventh even following Saturday’s leg

Even the second leg of British rally was accompanied by demanding climatic conditions. Especially heavy rain showers were causing bad grip on the tracks of the special stages and they also significantly lowered visibility. Although today's special stages were not wrapped up in impenetrable fog as was the case yesterday, the leg on Saturday was not much easier.

Jan Kopecký with Filip Schovánek started into Saturday's leg as eleventh fastest. The pitfalls of Saturday's special stages were handled by the Czech Rally Team Kopecký without any driver errors and even following this leg on Saturday Jan and Filip are still sitting in eleventh place.

" Today's special stages were also highly demanding. Visibility is still very bad, even though throughout the day the fogs have partially cleared up. Climatic conditions still remain to be unbelievably tough. Weather is changing very quickly; especially the strong wind and unusually heavy rain showers very much complicate the handling of the race cars for all drivers.

With regards to the given conditions and our starting position we have concentrated on avoiding possible errors. We would be glad to successfully complete the British rally and our Škoda Fabia WRC is helping us achieve that by running flawlessly under such demanding conditions.

We were quite surprised by the interest the British rally has attracted. Especially the spectator special stage in Cardiff was attended by many fans and that is something very positive with regards to the unfavorable weather," said the driver Jan Kopecký at the finish line of Saturday's leg.

"We successfully completed the second leg and our position on the borderline between top ten group and the second group of ten drivers is the maximum possible that Jan and Filip can achieve under these conditions. The current running position is not giving us any right for exaggerated excitement, but in spite of this fact we can be content. Honestly said, the crew and the Škoda Fabia WRC car were running smoothly and flawlessly during the two completed legs," added the team manager Josef Kopecký.

British rally will be concluded with a Sunday's leg that covers four special stages with a total distance of one hundred and twelve kilometers.
